Friends, I have embarked on a new path. I’m taking a certification course in Zero Balancing. It’s a modality notable for having a name that doesn’t tell you what it is. (I am reminded of the of that time I self-published a novel with a name that was uncomfortably long and cryptic, but that’s a story for my other blog . . .)
No matter, I will tell you what Zero Balancing is. It’s a hands-on therapy, performed with the client fully clothed. Unlike massage therapy, which focuses mostly on muscles and fascia, the points of contact are bones and joints. Rather than coaxing tissues to relax, we hold the points, and wait, and pause, to create space for the client to experience the body and their relationship with it, and, if they choose, to explore other ways of being in this body, this moment. Zero Balancing is quiet, meditative, and transformative. I am thrilled to be learning this new way to invite people to come back to themselves. Or, as I’ve said elsewhere, to discover the path to being at peace in and with your body.
I won’t be certified to practice Zero Balancing until around the end of the year, but don’t be surprised if I talk about it continuously in the meanwhile, because I’m so excited about it.
Till then, we’ll all have to be satisfied with all the wonderful massage techniques I’ve been practicing for over twenty years. I think we will survive. If you would like an appointment, head on over to my booking page and see what works for you.
